Org Chart – Three Pillars (2020)

I recorded this on a fun little Korg Volca FM synthesizer, which, for $150, lets you create sounds similar to a vintage Yamaha DX7. My kids love it because the interface is tactile and easy to manipulate; I love it as a tool for learning the basics of sound synthesis.

This is an improvisation lightly edited in GarageBand. I hear a lot of yellow in it, if that means anything to anyone. I like my electronic pieces, and I like my piano improvisations, but this is the first recording I’ve made that combines the two. Maybe if I keep at it I’ll approach early Oneohtrix Point Never. I said maybe 🙂
